5 Sneaky Money-Saving Hacks Revealed

What’s better than money? …More money!

And that starts with more money in your pocket.

Let us go over 5 sneaky ways to save money and keep your money where it belongs (with you).

1. Buy gifts on clearance or even better – thrift

Don’t get me wrong, I love gift shopping at Target. But, there are better money-saving alternatives when it comes to buying gifts.

TJMAXX, Ross, and even Big Lots have awesome clearance sections. They give you options for buying gifts for loved ones at a low price.

But let’s not stop there.

Even thrift stores can give you a good deal on gift items.

Goodwill now has online shopping. The site has a huge category of gift-worthy items. It includes signed sports goods and memorabilia. It also includes tablets, games, and gaming systems. It also has books and even toys (still in their boxes).

2. One word….Curbside

Simply put, you can’t buy what you can’t see.

Using curbside is a sure way to put the blinders on and save money and time on groceries and other household items.

I promise I don’t have a beef with Target. But, how easy is it to get lost in almost ANY section and spend more money than I want to?

Do a little experiment.

Next time you shop for groceries, test out curbside. Compare to your old recipes. See how much you save with the blinders on.

3. Libby

Remember that old building called a library?

This money-saving tip is for all my book and audiobook lovers. The Libby app is an online library. It lets you enjoy ebooks, digital audiobooks, and magazines for free!

The only step to use this app is getting a free library card from your local library. Then, you plug it into the app.

Instead of spending over 10 -15 bucks for a single book, borrow recently released titles for free.

4. Give yourself an allowance

Ever heard of binge eating? Well, binge spending works the same way.

Following a budget is key to being money-wise. But, if you save so hard that you end up spending your savings on an impulse item, then you aren’t making progress.

Start small.

Take out $20 per check. By the end of the month, you will have enough to buy whatever random thing you want from Amazon.

And if you don’t have enough for that item, save the money until you do.

Managing money takes some level of effort, reward yourself for the work you put in.

5. DIY anything

There are way too many resources on the internet to not DIY some small things in life.

DIY your meals.

The cost of ingredients is cheaper, you get leftovers, and you don’t have to leave a tip.

DIY some basic car maintenance.

Replacing your wiper blades, and lights is only a Youtube search away. And if you are feeling adventurous you can even do an oil change at home.

(For my money-saving girlies) DIY some of your cosmetic needs.

You can do pre-cured gel nails, dip powder nails, eyebrow threading, lashes, and facials at home. There are plenty of kits for self-care upkeep online and it will cost you a fraction of going into a shop.

I will even leave this easy body scrub recipe. It will leave your skin more moisturized than anything you can buy. Enjoy!

  • ½ cup Raw Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Raw Honey
